HS Student Leadership, Activities and Important Upcoming Dates

What do our high school learners do? Find out everything.

HIGH SCHOOL

Dear High School Community,

Welcome to 2026 and the 2nd Semester of the school year.  What a fantastic start it has been, with a focus on learning, research, service, and the start of after school activities / athletics.  A special welcome to our ten newest students in the high school and congratulations to our Student Council leaders for spearheading this year’s High School Day of Unity - we celebrated Reading Week with the book fair and DEAR time, Drop Everything and Read, and celebrated with the Lincoln traditional Senior vs. Faculty soccer match.

Service Learning and Showcasing HS Student Leadership

This past week our students showcased their leadership in so many ways, working to make their school and community better.  The Lincoln World Cafe, a Lincoln community event to gather data for the formation of the next strategic plan was facilitated by HS students last Thursday afternoon.  Our student facilitators engaged the community to provide feedback and ideas around topics such as school innovation, learning from and with Argentina, and learning engagement, to name a few.

Over 40 students also participated in a leadership training to guide their classmates through the Service Learning cycle, while the STUCO members planned and carried out Unity Day, bringing together students in new groups with new opportunities to get to know their peers.

Pink Shirt Day

Next week when students return from the four day weekend, we will celebrate kindness with Pink Shirt Day. Students and staff are encouraged to wear pink on Wednesday, February 25th, to demonstrate solidarity with schools around the world against bullying and in promotion of small acts of kindness. In advisory class and during the Flex Assembly, students will learn more about the goals of the day and recognize acts of kindness in their own community.

Preparation for Senior IB Mock Exams

Mock IB exams for our seniors will take place the week of March 9-13. All seniors will sit for Mock exams in the auditorium, with no regularly scheduled classes for all 12th grade students. The Mock exams replicate many of the IB exam papers that our seniors will take beginning April 27, 2026 and provide teachers with the opportunity to give additional targeted feedback and support.

In the first week of March, we will be sending important information to all Senior families outlining details related to the Lincoln Graduation Ceremony for the class of 2026 as well as major events leading up to this momentous occasion at the end of May.

HS Coffee

Mark your calendar to visit the campus for this month’s HS Parent Coffe on February 26, in the cafeteria riverside room beginning at 8:30 am.

On behalf of the High School Leadership Team, have a great Lincoln weekend and happy Valentines Day as well!

#AllTogether

Warm regards,

Dave Nelson, Ed.D.
High School Principal
