3rd-5th Grade Overnight Expeditions in March

Our 3rd-5th grade learning expeditions are coming up in less than a month! All families 3rd-5th should have received a detailed email message yesterday with information and instructions. Please let the ES Office know if you didn’t receive that (esoffice@lincoln.edu.ar)

Celebrate Reading Week

We had a terrific and enriching Reading Week. Our Librarian, Ms. Melissa organized so many activities for our students to encourage, inspire, and develop a love of reading. Starting with World Read Aloud Day, the Condors celebrated books with several virtual author visits. Classes hosted over 50 guest readers, and visited the book fair to bring the reading fun home. We finished up the week reading quietly while the big kids in middle school and high school read at the same time.

If you are at school next week, our doors are decorated with a different book or author. Can you guess them all? Please take time to celebrate reading week at home with family reading time. Our whole school community came together to celebrate literature and reading this week! Thank you to all of our staff for their organization and participation. Special thanks to Ms. Melissa Cavender for her leadership this week!

Pink Shirt Day Celebration

Each year our school joins other schools from 180 countries around the world to recognize Pink Shirt Day, a movement started in Canada to teach students the importance of kindness and to inspire everyone to stand up against bullying.

Please have your child wear a pink shirt (or the closest thing you have to a pink shirt) to school on February 25.

Students will participate in activities focused on kindness, friendship, and gratitude. We will start our day by getting into small groups with students from K3-5th grade completing activities together and strengthening our community bonds and sense of responsibility for each other. Thank you for supporting our message of kindness at home!

Swimming Event for 4th and 5th Grade (Thorpe and Mathias)

As the concluding celebration of our swimming unit in Physical Education, Lincoln holds an annual event similar to a swim meet for the 4th and 5th graders called Thorpe and Mathias.

  • Friday March 13th from 8:30 to 10:45 at the pool
  • 4th and 5th grade parents are encouraged to attend!
  • Mr. Nico is setting it up for parents to join the relays at the end if they want…if at least one parent jumps in to swim, Mr. Derek will too

As always, please contact Mr. Derek, Mr. Chris, or any of our elementary team if you have any questions or concerns!
