Dr. Nada Collins shares Lincoln updates to celebrate our community.

SUPERINTENDENTS' MESSAGE

What's up, Lincoln Community. I hope you've had a great week with your students. We are now officially into the month of June, and you can feel it with the energy around our community. We've got so many things to celebrate that have been happening over the past few weeks. And we want to let you know about some things that are coming up for the weeks ahead.

Our students in K-5, grade five and Grade eight will all have opportunities over the coming weeks to celebrate these milestones. We call them moving up or promotion ceremonies as students celebrate and acknowledge their transition from their current grade into their new division or into first grade.

Tonight, we celebrate our seniors, which is our culmination of their time here at Lincoln.
This ceremony is the moment they transition from being Lincoln students to becoming an alumni. We're really excited to reflect on their successes and their challenges and their learning throughout the time they've been with us here as students, whether it's only been for this year or for a few of them who have been with us even since K4 and K-5. We look forward to sharing out pictures of this evening with you.

In preparation for this event, our seniors have had a number of activities and opportunities to gather together and to mark this moment. They had a tea at my house, which was just a lovely and very sweet Lincoln tradition to have all of our seniors signing their yearbooks in my backyard. They've had the opportunity to have their senior awards ceremony and a really special occasion, which is the senior parade. Yesterday, our students walked through campus, went to the full facilities, and students from our very youngest Lincoln Condors, all the way up to our Grade 11 and our faculty and staff were all out to cheer and to recognize this important moment for them.

As we finish the academic year, there's lots of opportunities to showcase our learning. There's the after school activities and you'll see some photos from that that happened this week where our dance and cheer and hip hop and all the groups got together to share what they've been working on and learning throughout the semester. Our middle school students also had an arts and exhibition day, which was another place where they could share what they've been learning during their class time. Our ES students competed in a battle of the books, a literacy challenge for our upper elementary students who've had a couple of competitions this week, and you'll see some photos of that included as well.

Just as a reminder, as we get to this time of the year, our activities are finishing. Today is the last day for all of our students for their after school activities.

Elementary and middle school parents, there are still some things happening ahead this week for your children, so check out the details down below. Our elementary students will be giving their musical and arts performance this next week and our middle school students will be having a graphic design and drama celebration. Information is included.

And I want to give a special thank you to those of you who have already volunteered to sign up for the blood drive tomorrow. It's a cause that’s dear to my heart and our community. So thank you for those who are coming on campus tomorrow. If you haven't already signed up and you would still like to participate, please follow the instructions in the link below.

Thank you everyone, and have a wonderful weekend.
