SUPERINTENDENTS' MESSAGE

Hello, Lincoln,

One of the things that helps make us special and a stand up community is that we are guided by a strategic plan. It's a plan created by our community
to help us be future forward thinking about the needs of our school.

In February 2020, we had parents, students, board, administration, faculty and staff that all sat down together to build the plan for Lincoln's future. We all came together, we spent a weekend working and and thinking forward for what we wanted the future of our school to be.

In March 2020, one month later, the world changed radically for all of us. And while we have made movement in our strategic plan over the past few years, we do also recognize that we've had higher priorities and not given up the time and attention that we would like to.

I've told you before, I have the luckiest job in the world. It's because I get to arrive in an amazing community with talented faculty and staff, warm parents, and really curious and engaged students. And because I've arrived at a school that has its path written, that's already written the script for what they would like to see happen and how we grow over the next few years.

With my new step into leadership and as we start to shift back to what feels a little bit more normal for many of us, we want to take this opportunity
to reflect on our plan. How does our plan still fit as we move forward, post-pandemic and we start thinking about Lincoln? Is this still the plan
that meets our needs? Our hunch is that it is with some opportunities for some slight adjustments and reflection.

Next Thursday, after school we'll be holding an opportunity for the reflection of our strategic plan. It's open to students, to parents, to staff, to faculty, just like last time.

We need more students to sign up. So please do consider joining or coming along with your child in Middle School and High School to be a part of the conversation. Thank you.

SIGN UP FORM!

I'm standing here today in our elementary library. Libraries are one of my favourite places on campus. To me, it's the heartbeat of the school where our parents, our students are adults all come together and are part of our community.

Every Thursday at 8 a.m., our elementary library is open for Tiny Tales for Tots. So please do bring your pre Lincoln age children to come enjoy a story
first thing in the morning, some activities and some chance to be with other children and to appreciate the space.

This week, in honor of Literacy Day, our Middle School and High School faculty and staff stood up to share a favorite book with the students during the assembly in High School. So they shared a book that they were reading or that they have read that had meaningful impact to them.

For those of you with students in the Elementary, the last Saturday of every month, we are open here in the morning for you to come and enjoy the space with your child, to play games, to check out books, and to visit Gracie, our library pet therapy dog.

In honor of this time, we're celebrating our Librarians Day coming up next week, as well as Teachers Day this weekend. So I just wanted to take a minute and celebrate and shout out the amazing community that is a part of your children's learning experiences.

Thank you for your partnership. Have a great weekend, Lincoln.
Warm regards,

Dr. Nada Collins
