Dear Lincoln Community,

It has been a pleasure and privilege to serve this community for three years now.  I am proud to be a Condor and proud of everything our middle school students have achieved this year.  As the year wraps up our students are excited to have the opportunity to share their learning and accomplishments with their peers and families.

I would like to highlight the work of our grade 6 students who have been working on independent projects around the UN SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals).  The overarching goal of the project is to help students understand that they are capable partners in making the world a better place, where everyone is healthy and treated fairly, and where our planet is safe and clean for all living things.  To achieve these goals students have done research, set goals and taken action within our community.  Some examples of their work have been exchanging items to avoid waste, creating new things out of recycled materials, donating hygiene products for girls to “Pandemia de Amor,” reading sessions with younger kids and educating others about water conservation.  Seeing their enthusiasm and commitment reminds us all of the importance of teaching students to take action from a young age and the impact even small actions can have on the world around us.

Students in all three grade levels have shared their artistic and design endeavors in our Drama and Design presentations on May 28th and our Music and Visual Art presentation on June 6th.  A huge shout out of thanks goes to our teachers who have worked hard over these last months to help the students prepare for these public events:  Christy Wanamaker (music), Christa Eleftherakis (drama), Heath Fonts (drama) Eduardo Tammaro (design), Nico Belluscio (design), Leila Awada (art), Ignacio Garibaldi and Fabricio Gatta (music assistants)
