From the Middle School counselor
As we are coming up on the end of the year, I want to focus on mental health and well being as this can be an exciting and also stressful time for several reasons: students taking final exams and submitting final projects; families who are leaving are packing and saying goodbye; families who are staying with us may be saying goodbye to some of their best friends; trips being planned for the break to visit new places or see distance family and friends, etc. It is important during times of change, including daily routine change, to ensure everyone is taking care of their mental health. I want to highlight the presentation the Truman group did with our community a few weeks ago. There are good ideas about ways to manage and express emotions. Social/Emotional Well-being for Parents and Families (Passcode: ?ZZ0#=18). The Truman Group provides worldwide psychological and counseling services specializing in the needs of international school communities and can be a great resource while school is on break.
