middle school

Dear MS Parents, Students and Staff,

It has been wonderful this week to see our middle school students join their after school activities. Participation in athletics and activities help to build a sense of community and connection and for students to explore new areas of interest while building skills for the future. If your child didn’t sign up to participate in any activity, we encourage you to contact our activities office (activities@lincoln.edu.ar) to look at options.

Back to School night:

We can’t wait to welcome our middle school parents on campus to meet our fantastic teachers and learn more about learning in the middle school. The afternoon will start at 3:30 with an opportunity for parents that are new to Lincoln to learn more about Schoology and how they can access it as a parent. At 4:00 we will officially start with a welcome and our back-to-school classroom visits which will last until 6:30. More information will be coming out directly from the middle school office.

MS/HS Eco Team

Our MS and HS Eco Team student leaders had the opportunity to visit Temaiken to attend a conference that was led by keynote speaker, Dr. Jane Goodall. She spoke to an audience of students from around Argentina about her life's work and the importance of conservation. The message of taking care of each other and our planet was a great introduction to our upcoming year in the Eco Clubs. The students were left inspired by her words and more connected to our animal friends after spending the day at Temaiken.

Highlight on Learning

MS EAL: In the spirit of encouraging reading for pleasure, EAL students from grades 6, 7, and 8 visited the library with Ms. Laura on August 16. Ms. Mechi went out of her way and organized a fun scavenger hunt and a book tasting that students enjoyed very much.

MS EAL Social Studies: EAL warm up activities include games that encourage interaction and dialogue. SS EAL will start a warm up tournament of Happy Salmon. Once a week we will start class with a 5-7 minute round culminating in prizes at the end of the quarter.

Grade 6 Beginning Band: The 6th graders have met their band instruments! They are in the process of learning how to play and care for their new instruments. "Adoption day" will soon be here and these instruments will come home to start the hard work of practicing! So far all smiles!
