HIGH SCHOOL

Dear HS Community,

Wow, today, October 4th, marks the end of the 1st Quarter of the 2024-25 academic school year.  What an amazing start it has been. Students and teachers alike are celebrating the success of the Learning Expeditions, as students had time to strengthen relationships, come together as a class, learn more about communities in Argentina, and have the chance to serve, while building foundations for future service learning.

With the end of the 1st Quarter, progress reports will be available to all students and families beginning October 10th through PowerSchool. The progress reports reflect each student’s current level of achievement as a measure of their knowledge, understanding, and level of skill development based on the assessments of the 1st quarter’s learning standards in each class. It is very important to remember that these reports are not permanent grades and should be used as data to help students adjust their learning behaviors and approaches to learning according to their goals in each course. We encourage the students to be in active conversation with their teachers to seek support and clarification when needed.

Parents Conferences will take place on October 31 and November 1, providing parents time to meet with individual teachers, in person or online, to discuss their child’s progress.  More information will be shared with instructions for signing-up for the conferences right after Spring Break.

Next week we will be celebrating Diversity Week and Unity Day, along with a shorter week, with no school on Friday, October 11th.  Diversity Week will open with a MS and HS assembly, setting the stage for the week of school-wide activities centered around Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDI), aimed at fostering community learning and encouraging student-led initiatives, leadership, and action. Thursday, October 10,  will feature Unity Day, spearheaded by Student Council leaders (STUCO). The day will include a special schedule with all classes meeting in the morning and fun activities in the afternoon including sports, trivia, BBQ, singing, and more. Students will be organized into Color Groups, giving them a chance to meet students outside of their grade level.  Congratulations to the STUCO leadership team for their organization of this event and thank you to PAL for donating ice cream for the end of the day!

On behalf of the High School Leadership Team we wish our students and families a wonderful Spring Break.

Have a great Lincoln day!   #AllTogether

Warm regards,
