End of the Year Coming Fast

HIGH SCHOOL

Dear HS Community,

With only six weeks remaining in the school year, the campus is a flury with learning opportunities, showcases, celebrations, and end of the year assessments.  Undoubtedly, while these times bring added excitement, they also raise anxiety, especially as some students prepare to say goodbye to friends and teachers in the coming month.

To best way we can help students to lower their anxiety levels and to be present with their learning and studies, is to help them plan and prepare for what is ahead and provide support when needed. Additionally, by intentionally building balance of work and play into the plan, students learn to manage the challenging times and to appreciate the celebrations even more.

Here is some key information to help students plan and for families to support by being involved in celebrations and showcases in the coming weeks:

  • Final Assessment Schedule for Semester 2, June 2-13, 2205 and description of design and philosophy.
  • Interim Grade Reports will be sent to families on May 9, 2025, alerting them if their teenager is struggling in one or more classes.  It is important for students to reach out to their teachers for support and for parents to reach out if they have questions.
  • Visual and Performing Arts HS Showcase (Celebration and Assessment): May 22, 2025 at 10:35 am -12:05 pm.Families of presenters and performers are welcome to attend in the Theater and Lobby.
  • High School Academic Awards Assembly, grades 9-12, May 28, 2025 from 11:30-1:15 pm in the Lincoln Auditorium.  All families of students who will be receiving awards will be notified via email.  We would like to keep the awards a surprise for the students, however, families will receive an email letting them know that their child is receiving an award. Families are invited to attend the event to celebrate.

CAREER FIELD STUDY FOR OUR 11TH GRADERS

We’ve added more opportunities for our 11th grade students to explore potential pathways for their post-secondary studies and careers. Throughout the year, we’ve invited guest speakers and universities to our campus, organized expeditions to universities, and we are expanding Career Field Study opportunities this month.

This months, 11th grade students have been invited based on the interests they have conveyed, in areas of business, engineering, logistics, entertainment, media, and medicine. May has featured visits to Mundoloco, and coming up on May 19-20, visits to BIMBO, BASF, and a local children's hospital.

Partnering with these prominent business and professional organizations, we strive to provide students with opportunities to tour facilities, connect with professionals, and obtain direct exposure to diverse occupations. Students have the opportunity to interact with industry experts and develop critical thinking skills through observation and inquiry.

END OF THE YEAR AND GRADUATION COMING FAST!

Our Seniors are in their second week of IB exams and graduation is quickly approaching on May 30, 2025, beginning at 6:00 pm. All Senior parents are reminded to reserve their graduation tickets through the main office.  An email and form was sent to you, inviting you to reserve tickets for your family. All guests to the graduation must have a ticket to enter campus on May 30, 2025.

Our Seniors also look forward to celebrating at the Junior-Senior Prom on May 24th, sharing stories at the Senior Tea sponsored by Dr. Nada Collins at her residency, swapping signatures in their 2024-25 Lincoln Yearbooks, and reflecting on their achievements during the Academic Awards Assembly on May 28th.   Most importantly, this month will be capped off with the 2025 Graduation Ceremony on May 30, 2025, in the Lincoln Auditorium. This momentous occasion will mark the end of one chapter and the exciting beginning of another.

Seniors and their families may download the detailed letter, which has been emailed prior, explaining the end of the year celebrations for our Seniors.
