HIGH SCHOOL
Dear HS Community,
Lincoln High School is full of excitement and learning, both in and out of the classroom. These weeks ahead feature important academic checkpoints and many opportunities for students to be involved in co-curricular activities.
End of the 3rd Quarter and End of the Coursework for Seniors
The third quarter of the academic school year will close on April 4, 2025. The quarter grade for all year-long and semester classes is a progress report that represents each student’s summative grade at that time. The quarter grade also provides students and families with feedback of the learning progression in each class. We encourage students to communicate with their teachers and to reach out if they have any questions or need support.
The last day of classes for our Seniors is April 25, 2025. Our students finished their mock exams last week and are actively preparing for their IB exams, which will take place from April 29 - May 21, 2025. Best wishes to our Seniors as they come to these closing challenges of their high school studies.
Condors on Stage, in the Gym, and on the Field!
Lincoln HS sent off 27 of our Condors to participate in this year’s SAAC Fine Arts Festival in Nido, Chile. Students from across the region come together to share their love of visual and performing arts to design, create, and showcase their collective work. Help us in wishing our students an incredible experience and safe travels.
Congratulations to our Varsity Girls Basketball team, who finished first in the Copa Condorito Basketball Tournament last weekend. Of the 6 teams, our girls finished with the championship cup, and our boys finished 5th.
We also want to wish our Basketball and Tennis players all the best as they prepare for the SAAC tournaments in Montevideo, and Curitiba, April 2-6, 2025. As well, Lincoln will host the SAAC Track and Field Invitational those same days!
Updates in IB
Mock exams were successful, and we appreciate the support of Senior parents who lifted the students’ spirits with care and snacks. The actual IB exams will begin on April 29th with IB Physics and will conclude on May 21st with Higher Level Math. Students have had access to their specific exam schedule on Schoology and via email.
HS Parent Coffee Next Week
Families are invited to the upcoming HS Parent Coffee, which will take place face to face at Lincoln in the Riverside room of the Cafeteria on Thursday, March 27, from 8:30 - 9:30 am.
These monthly HS Principals Coffee meetings provide the opportunity for us to share updates from the High School, answer general questions about school, and engage in a dialogue about ways we can support one another in supporting your teenagers and their learning.
Mrs. Fang, Assistant Principal and Coordinator of IB, Mrs. Silvina Lopez Fernandez, Directora de Secundaria, and Devon Stafford, Counselor, will also join us for updates in their areas and be available to answer questions. We will have some special guests this month from our staff and the student body to present work they’ve done around Service Learning, both in and out of the classroom.
