First Annual CampIn was a GREAT success!

On Friday, February 24 we had over 160 people participate in our first CampIn.  The games were fun, the weather was perfect, and the company was the absolute best.  Thank you to all of the families who participated and who helped make the event such a success.  Based on feedback, we will do this event again next year!  Check our social media for photos from the event.

ES Learning Expeditions

Next week our G3, 4 and 5 students depart for their overnight expeditions.
Many months in the planning we are excited to be traveling to explore parts of Argentina and spend time building our community as well as building independence skills in our elementary students.

Please ask our 3rd, 4th and 5th graders about their experiences when they return to school from San Pedro, Tandil and Mar del Plata.

Please note: All elementary leadership (Ms. Becky with Grade 4, Mr. Chris with Grade 5, Mr. Gregory with Grade 3,and Ms. Cassie with Grade 3) will be out of school on the expeditions.  You will be able to contact our Director of Support Services, Ms. Renea Bartlett Pope, if you have any needs from Tuesday-Friday, March 7-10.

Music presentation feedback to plan ahead

Hello everyone, Here is a short survey on the two ES concerts that were given this past December. We would really appreciate your feedback, and we will use this information to make the concerts more enjoyable for everyone in the future. Thank you, Mr. Peter

Active Parenting Workshop Info

Ms. Cassie and Ms. Fernanda will be hosting a five session program called, Active Parenting Workshop starting on March 16th. The workshop will be in-person on Thursdays from 8:05-9:05am between March 16th and April 27th. There will be two weeks off during this time frame due to Easter break and student-led conferences.

Active Parenting is a program designed by Dr. Michael Popkin’s that focuses on positive discipline, communication techniques, building responsibility and understanding/redirecting misbehavior.

Many Lincoln parents have participated in these courses over the past few years. Here are two parents’ experiences:

“I joined the Active Parenting course with low expectations; however, I was completely amazed, engaged and motivated from the first class, that I never missed any class. It was a fantastic opportunity to learn how to effectively and proactively communicate with my daughter. It also did help me to understand what skills and techniques are necessary to succeed as an active parent in this modern times. It was so relieving to share with the other parents and listen to their experience parenting their children.” - Javier (father of K5 student)

"I've always been told that there is no 'manual' for parenting but this course and its 'Active Parenting' book are as close to the 'manual' as you can get! This course has helped me learn tools and insight on how to lead and empower my kids to become responsible for their actions and consequences while nurturing their self-esteem and courage to cope with and learn from the challenges and failures that form the ladder of personal growth and maturation. Most important and supportive, it was great to have the opportunity to share experiences, tips and frustrations with other parents!" – Fred (father of G1 and G4 students)

Sessions will be as follows:

  • Thursday March 16th, 8:05-9:05am: The Active Parent
  • Thursday March 23rd, 8:05-9:05am: Cooperation and Communication
  • Thursday March 30th, 8:05-9:05am: Responsibility and Discipline
  • Thursday April 13th, 8:05-9:05am: Building Courage and Self-Esteem
  • Thursday April 27th, 8:05-9:05am: Understanding and Redirecting Misbehavior

Each participant will get their own copy of the book “Active Parenting: A Parent’s Guide to Raising Happy and Successful Children” in English. Each week, we will review and discuss a chapter of the book.

We would love for you to join us! We will be capping the program at  8 parents. Please email Cassie (cassie.doyle@lincoln.edu.ar) or Fernanda (fernanda.franco@lincoln.edu.ar) if you’d like to participate. Active participation in all sessions is encouraged.
