Dear Lincoln Parents,
As the new President of PAL, I am thrilled to connect with each of you and work together to create a vibrant and supportive community for our children, families, and staff.
Our school is not just a place for academic learning; it’s where our children form lifelong friendships, interact with teachers and staff, and learn valuable life lessons. For us as parents, the school community serves as a bridge, whether we are new to the country or long-time residents. For those who are foreigners, the school is often our first introduction to the local culture and its people. For those who are locals, engaging with parents and staff from diverse backgrounds enriches our lives and broadens our perspectives.
Like many of you, I have had the incredible opportunity to live abroad. Originally from the Dominican Republic, I have spent nearly 20 years living in various countries across three continents. These experiences have shown me the importance of school communities in easing the transition to a new country and culture. Through this journey, alongside my husband and our two now-high-schoolers, I have learned how essential it is for both children and parents to feel a sense of belonging and connection.
This year, my goal is to celebrate and embrace our diversity, fostering a strong and united community where everyone feels welcome and valued. PAL is a group of dedicated parents who volunteer their time and effort to build an inclusive community. We work together harmoniously, free from political, religious or financial purposes. PAL is not a place for individual protagonism; it is a place where teamwork and collective effort are highly valued.
It serves as a platform to share positive ideas, uniting all of Lincoln’s communities into one. Your involvement in PAL can make a real difference, not only for your children but for the entire school community. Whether you can contribute time, ideas, or simply your presence at events, every effort helps build a more connected and supportive environment.
Let’s continue making Lincoln not just a place of learning, but a place of connection and shared experiences. Together, we can enhance our community where everyone thrives.
I am excited about the year ahead and look forward to working with all of you to make it a fantastic one for our children, families, and staff. Let’s make this journey together!
