As a self-navigator, our students learn how to manage their skills and explore their passions. Juana Camila García, a middle schooler in Grade 6, embodies this attribute of a Lincoln learner! Last month she participated in the 31st edition of the National Tennis Tournament Chiquitines 2024 in the Club Campestre Pereira, Colombia, and became the champion in Singles and Doubles, in the 12 years old category. As part of her first-place prize, Juana received a generous gift voucher to shop for new sports equipment at Wilson and the El Tenista.com store.

The competition gathered young people from different regions of Colombia, along with talented international competitors. More than 540 children participated in all categories. Such a challenge, however, did not discourage Juana, who, already being a student with some preparation thanks to her advanced tennis lessons at Lincoln (part of the school's extracurricular activities program), she kept high spirits until the very end.

The result, besides victory, is not only the resilience developed in the process, but the satisfaction of pushing her own limits and facing new and promising opportunities!  “We are very grateful for the support our daughter has received from the school,” shared her mother.
