Lincoln Educators Lead Professional Learning Sessions at AMISA Educators' Conference 2024
Five of our educators attended the conference in Paraguay as speakers to represent our school! The event focused on positive school culture, STEAM and community integration, and collaboration with stakeholders to realize the school's vision.
Lincoln participated in the American International Schools in the Americas (AMISA) Educators' Conference 2024, held in the American School of Asunción, in Paraguay. From March 20 to March 22, five of our educators led workshops about a variety of topics like multi-tiered systems of support, holistic learning, and student leadership.
Following this year’s theme “Growing and Connecting: Better Together,” the event focused on key questions such as how to nurture a positive school culture, what successful STEAM and community integration look like, and how all stakeholders can collaborate to realize the school's vision.
Valeria Trias, a high school teacher and one of our speakers, led a workshop on empowering student leadership, collaboration, and creativity through initiatives like the yearbook project. “It was incredibly rewarding to share insights and strategies to enhance student engagement and ownership of their learning.” She added: “I gained valuable perspectives and learned new approaches to fostering a positive school culture and nurturing students' soft skills.”
Besides sharing their insights with colleagues and connecting with professionals from other international communities, our educators had the opportunity to learn from keynote speakers Dr. Eric Mazur, a physicist and educator at Harvard University, and Dr. Eugenia Cheng, Scientist In Residence at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
“Exploring the role of learning assistants in creating a holistic learning experience was wonderful. It was great connecting with fellow educators and Learning Assistants. So many valuable experiences were exchanged,” posted Caterina Pigni, an Occupational Therapy expert working in our school. “Overall, the conference reaffirmed Lincoln's dedication to providing an enriching educational experience that prepares students for success in a rapidly changing world,” concluded Valeria Trias. Witnessing the growth of our educators nurtures the school's vision of a community of life-long learners.
