Join the Terry Fox Run to raise cancer support funds!
Beginning on March 17th, 2012, Lincoln's National Honor Society has proudly sponsored the annual Terry Fox Runs at campus. This year’s event will be on Saturday, September 28th beginning at 10 a.m.
Have you ever been inspired? Would you believe us if we told you a single person's brave and selfless act inspired a whole country? At just eighteen, Terry Fox was diagnosed with osteogenic sarcoma cancer, which resulted in his leg being amputated. However, his spirit did not falter, and he committed to running across Canada, embarking on the Marathon of Hope to raise awareness for cancer research. Every day, for 143 days straight, Terry ran close to a marathon covering over 3,330 miles. Although he was unable to complete the run due to complications and his passing, his efforts have had significant effects on cancer patients and gave hope and support to those who must fight this battle.
His determination and resilience have even been internationally recognized, inspiring others to participate and raise cancer support funds. Beginning on March 17th, 2012, Lincoln's National Honor Society has been the proud sponsor of the annual Terry Fox Runs here at Lincoln. This year’s event will take place on Saturday, September 28th beginning at 10 a.m.
