Dear Families and Friends of Lincoln,

The humanitarian crisis in Ukraine and neighboring countries has been heartbreaking to watch and has left many of us feeling helpless. Two million refugees have fled Ukraine in recent days, making the conflict the worst refugee crisis Europe has seen since World War II. Many in our community have a personal connection to those affected. The refugees are predominantly women and children, but also communities that have experienced discrimination while fleeing: African and Asian students, Romani, and LGBTQ individuals.

In the spirit of Lincoln’s mission to be caring members of the global community, we would like to help in this time of great need. PAL, in partnership with local Lincoln parent-run Pandemia de Amor-Argentina, will be facilitating the collection of donations to Global Empowerment Mission (GEM), a disaster relief nonprofit organization. GEM is already on the border of Ukraine and Poland, providing immediate humanitarian aid to arriving refugees while also facilitating safe passage to their next destination.  If you would like to support this initiative, please donate via one of the many ways listed below.
Every little bit helps.

Thank you,
