At Lincoln, the DP Film Course develops students’ courage, passion, and curiosity. All these attributes are shown in “The Tourist”, a short film by a group of Grade 12 students (Salma, Eshaal, Oliverio, Nicholas, Camila) that was submitted and accepted to show at the Universidad de Monterrey (UDEM) International Film Festival, in Mexico. The event welcomed both high school and university-level students.

The invitation to participate in such a festival came thanks to the shared enthusiasm of Lincoln Film teacher Christopher Winchester and other international educators. Through their networking, Mr. Winchester learned about the UDEM festival and what a great opportunity it would be for Lincoln students.

After bringing this big news to the class, that one group of students accepted the challenge. Though it was a small event, Mr. Winchester described it as a starting point: “One of my goals is to get our students to participate in more of these events and opportunities around the world.”
