THE TIME WE DIDN’T HAVE A UNIFORM

Learn the story behind a DIY Lincoln uniform! Henry Whitney shared a special moment as one of our learners.

Some soccer games are just unforgettable! Henry Whitney, a former Lincoln learner from 1946-1954, still remembers when they didn’t have a uniform for one match. Back then, our school was known as the American Community School. “We had a soccer game against Colegio Ward. The problem was we had no uniforms”.

The situation was critical. No name nor t-shirts to identify the team on the field! After they got together to discuss it, our learners decided to call themselves the TACS: The American Community School. “We all got our mummies to sow the letters "TACS" on white T-shirts with ribbons. But we forgot to decide the color...  So we all had TACS in different colors. But that didn't matter. We played and won”. Nowadays, the “TACS” may have disappeared, but our school still holds that resilience of the Condor Spirit.
