Lincoln Shines in the First-Ever Liga das Américas Minecraft Competition

Our Elementary and Middle School Condors played with skill, creativity, and outstanding teamwork in the new international esports event, featuring schools from Chile, Venezuela, and Brazil.

Minecraft tournament 25-26 s1

This past weekend, Lincoln learners helped make history as participants in the first-ever Liga das Américas Minecraft Capture the Flag Competition, a newly launched international esports event featuring schools from Chile, Venezuela, Brazil, and Argentina. With both Elementary and Middle School divisions represented, our Condors played with skill, creativity, and outstanding sportsmanship throughout the multi-round tournament.

A Day of Collaboration, Creativity, and Competitive Spirit

Teams competed through four rounds, navigating this year’s updated Minecraft Capture the Flag (CTF) map and applying strategies refined during lunchtime practice sessions. Learners approached each challenge with focus and positivity, supporting their teammates, adapting to unexpected scenarios, and learning from every match.

The energy in the Middle School Makerspace and Computer Lab was fantastic. Our WhatsApp updates kept our families connected in real time, adding to the excitement and team spirit of the day.

Celebrating Our Lincoln Teams

We are proud to recognize the achievements of our teams across both divisions:

Elementary School Division

🥇 1st Place – Redstone Rovers
 Jack C., Grant G., Mohammed A., Matheo B., Josef T.
🥉 3rd Place – Creeper Keepers
 Uria B., Noah K., Dante R., Raul L., Jack G.

Middle & High School Division

🥈 2nd Place – Team No Numbers

Their teamwork, quick thinking, and problem-solving were on full display throughout the tournament. What stood out most wasn’t just their gameplay, it was how they communicated, adapted, and supported each other as they challenged tough teams from the other schools.

Looking Ahead: A Growing Esports Pathway

As this was the inaugural Liga das Américas tournament, we are excited to be among the first schools shaping this emerging regional competition. Daigon, the tournament organizer, has already shared plans for additional events and the possibility of future qualifiers for the Minecraft World Championship, opening new avenues for learners to challenge themselves and represent Lincoln on an even larger stage.

We extend our thanks to all families for their support, to the Activities Department for providing a delicious pizza lunch, and to The International School Nido de Aguilas and Daigon for organizing and launching what promises to be a dynamic new esports tradition.
