We finally have an official page to help you understand what Service Learning at Lincoln is all about and to get updates on our progress and planned activities!

Service Learning has been a passion of the Lincoln community since the school's beginning. Although the program's name may have changed over the years, the core values have remained the same. Since 2016, we have been transitioning from community service to service learning. A step towards that was collaborating with Aaron Moniz, a co-founder and Director of Inspire Citizens, a group that co-creates student-centered learning experiences for future-focused global citizenship. To showcase all the great work the community is doing, our partners, and news throughout the year, we have created a special webpage.

Through meetings with faculty, staff, families, and students, we reimagined education with a focus on mindful living, empathy, and sustainability. These are all key factors in designing a program that shares learning experiences with other communities and inspires our learners to become agents of change.

Service learning connects to the bigger picture, as it supports the first goal of the school's Strategic Plan:

"There is a cohesive school-wide approach to community service and service learning that supports student-led initiatives as well as school-led partnerships, providing opportunities to build cultural connections both locally and globally.”

Lincoln School's transformative journey with Inspire Citizens has led to the creation of a program that includes almost one service learning unit per grade level. We are so excited to continue fostering compassion, connection, understanding, and action, and to share it all through this new webpage!
