Systems are in place to engage parents in supporting learning and overall school advancement

 


2020-2021

  • Each Principal hosted monthly Parent Coffees and met regularly with PAL grade-level representatives to maintain communication and share concerns.

  • Two-way communication with parents was emphasized to keep connections strong and ensure engagement with the school community.

  • The Superintendent collaborated with PAL to host social events on campus, fostering parent engagement after the pandemic.

2021-2022

  • Survey existing communication platforms to gather insights and suggestions for improvement. Created a quick-access page on the school website with all the resources for incoming parents.
  • PAL parent community launched a range of activities from sports to cultural events to engage the whole community. Some of these events were hosted virtually due to the pandemic, in a hybrid mode or with social distance restrictions. 

2022-2023

  • Redesigned admission communciations, including acceptance, welcome letters, and follow-up information. In 2023, developed technology tutorials for parents transitioning to the Schoology platform. 
  • Regularly organized parent informational coffees on student learning and well-being. Host active parenting workshops where parents and counselors discuss child development through book discussions.
  • Twice a year, students present their learning progress to parents during school-wide Student-Led Learning Conferences. 

2023-2024

  • Initiated a 2024 audit of the admissions process to identify pain points and improve both internal and external procedures.
  • Collaborating with the operational and academic teams to develop content for the future internal family portal for the 2023-2024 school year.
