Many varied opportunities exist for students to demonstrate learning in authentic ways, take ownership of their learning, expand areas of interest, and receive meaningful feedback that moves them forward in their learning

2020-2021

  • Due to pandemic and lock down restrictions, this was not a focus for the year.

2021-2022

  • Elementary School Activities: Students lead and coordinate school assemblies, contribute to Fabulous Friday events, and Grade 5 creates content for weekly News Updates. The library support includes book repair and event promotion, and Passion Projects engage students in hands-on learning.
  • Middle and High School Developments: Middle School focuses on interdisciplinary learning and personalized assessments, while High School introduces Lincoln IMPACT for Grades 9 and 10 and the Lincoln Internship Program for Grade 11, providing community-connected learning and real-world work experience.

2022-2023

  • New electives are being offered in Middle School/High School allowing for students to explore their areas of interest and try new things.
  • The introduction of What I Need time is introduced in Elementary school, though at the end of this year that continues to be very teacher directed.

2023-2024

  • All students grade 3-12 are able to go on expedition trips, taking their learning beyond the classrooms.
  • NEASC self-reflection and external visit suggests this continues to be an area of growth. While we have aspects of student autonomy, we are investigating a systemized way of supporting student autonomy. Service Learning was identified as a way to encourage student autonomy and real-world application of learning.
