Resources and systems are in place to ensure that the curriculum is viable, vertically and horizontally aligned, and that it continues to evolve and be relevant, and that it remains in service of the mission, DoL and ALLs.
 


2020-2021

  • Shifted curriculum documentation from Standbench to GoogleDocs, allowing for easier sharing and collaboration of curriculum documentation. 
  • Created a new curriculum planner that will be used K-12, based on Understanding by Design principles, ensuring common practices across the school in writing curriculum. 

2021-2022

  • Weely two-Hour early dismissal Introduced to allow for professional learning time to work curriculum, receive training, and collaborate. 
  • Completed an audit of our documented curriculum over 700 units of study being delivered across all three divisions. We recognize that there are some strengths, gaps and overlaps in our written curriculum documentation.
  • Shifted curriculum storage from Standbench to GoogleDocs, along with common naming conventions allowing for a collaborative, dynamic, and shareable way to store documentation. 
  • Professional Development and Team Curriculum Collaboration Time used to support the creation of and reflection on our written curriculum 
  • Hired a Director of Teaching and Learning to lead the implementation of a viable curriculum in service to the mission, DoL, and ALLs.

2022-2023

  • Curriculum documentation continues to be reviewed regularly. Teachers received feedback around their written curriculum, suggesting a need to think more deeply about differentiation and inclusion. Curriculum teams meet weekly or biweekly in each division. 
  • Professional Learning and sharing expectations for understanding by design continues in all divisions. 

2023-2024

  • Curriculum documentation continues to be reviewed regularly. Teachers received feedback around their written curriculum, suggesting a need to think more deeply about differentiation and inclusion. Curriculum teams meet weekly or biweekly in each division. 
  • Curriculum documentation was updated to be shared with NEASC.
  • Professional Learning time allowed for both vertical and horizontal planning, review, and collaboration of curriculum.
